This video is a presentation speech from Dr. Rima E Laibow addressing the issues and severe ramifications the Codex Alimentarius Trade Commission will have on a worldwide scale and the level of control over food and nutrients that will be enforced.

Dr. Laibow is the Medical Director of the Natural Solutions Foundation and as stated on her website http://www.HealthFreedomUSA.org is also the President of the NatroTherapy Certification Board, which she helped establish.
The video, which can be found at most popular video sites like youtube and googlevideo, is a presentation speech from the National Association of Nutrition Professionals (NANP) 2005 Conference at the Dominican College in San Rafael, California.

Throughout the video, Dr Laibow tells us about the Codex Alimentarius and the catastrophic effects it will have on the worldwide populace.
Beginning with a history of Codex, Dr. Laibow tells of the conception of the Codex just after WWII by the ex-president of IG Farben (who came up with the idea while serving prison time for crimes against humanity during WWII) to the initial implementation in 1962 and the planned full implementation on December 31st 2009.
Dr. Laibow makes a point to tell us that on its own, Codex standards have no legal weight whatsoever because it is a Trade Commission, not a World Health Commission or a Consumer Protection Commission. However, the Codex is sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and is run at the request of the U.N. She goes on to explain that since its creation, the World Trade Organization (WTO) has adopted the Codex guidelines as mandatory for any member country of the WTO, which means the Codex regulations will be used in court cases involving food and nutrients, which in turn gives the Codex it's legal weight.
The second main section of the presentation is a breakdown of what the Codex actually does, particularly regarding the vitamin and mineral guidelines. Dr. Laibow explains that even though the Dietary Supplement and Education Act 1994 (DSHEA) classifies nutrients and herbs as foods, the Codex also in 1994, classified nutrients as toxins which need to be regulated and limitations implemented. Also noted is that “Codex would make nutrients illegal in the same way that Heroin is illegal” Also covered in this section is that the claim that Codex mandates the use of Monsanto's recombinant bovine growth hormone in every dairy cow on the planet and that every animal used for food must be treated with growth hormones and sub-clinical anti-biotics. Also covered is the requirement that all food (including organic food) be irradiated unless it's eaten locally and raw.
The third main section covers the consequences of Codex and the staggering number of fatalities it will cause. Dr. Laibow states the WHO and FAO estimate the vitamin and mineral standards alone will result in 3 billion deaths through starvation, under-nutrition and preventable diseases because the shipping and consumption of high potency, nutrient rich foods will not be Codex compliment and therefore illegal from Dec 31st 2009. Population reduction, anyone?
In the final section, Dr. Laibow encourages the audience to go to her website http://www.HealthFreedomUSA.org and sign the Citizens' Petition on Codex Alimentarius which will be used in a lawsuit against the American government. Also summarized are the methods her lawyers are using to combat Codex and raise political awareness because many politicians don't know the Codex even exists.

The Review.
So, most people will watch this video and be shocked at the thought of Codex' full implementation which, if is as truly scary as Dr. Rima Laibow would have us believe, would in fact be a catastrophe that will halve the world's population and we must do everything we can to prepare for this oncoming food crisis.
Well, I watched this video and thought yeah, this looks pretty grim, but rather than go out to the local health food store and buy their entire stock of vitamin pills to be prepared for the imminent foodocaust. I decided to do a little more homework on the Codex Alimentarius and the claims Laibow makes about the standards and regulations it mandates.
Right from the start Dr. Laibow states “Nothing I am going to tell you is exaggerated, is interpolated or is imagined. Everything I'm going to tell you is documented.”
So tell me, where are these documents? Feel free to head on over to http://www.codexalimentarius.net and have a look for yourself. There is a lot of what Laibow talks about on the Codex site, but there are some key details and “documents” missing, particularly the parts about recombinant bovine growth hormones and the irradiation of all food worldwide. Actually, I couldn't actually find the words “radiation”, “irritate” or anything close on inspection of any standards listed, but then, it's possible that the FAO and WHO have chosen to omit certain details from such a readily available document on the net.
What I did find however is the standard for vitamins and dietary supplements. Now here's where things get a little more interesting and where Dr. Laibow may in fact be correct. The standard for Vitamins and Mineral supplements is as follows (from the Codex Alimentarius):

“3.2 Contents of vitamins and minerals
3.2.1 The minimum level of each vitamin and/or mineral contained in a vitamin and mineral
food supplement per daily portion of consumption as suggested by the manufacturer should
be 15% of the recommended daily intake as determined by FAO/WHO.
3.2.2 Maximum amounts of vitamins and minerals in vitamin and mineral food supplements
per daily portion of consumption as recommended by the manufacturer shall be set, taking the
following criteria into account:
(a) upper safe levels of vitamins and minerals established by scientific risk assessment based
on generally accepted scientific data, taking into consideration, as appropriate, the varying
degrees of sensitivity of different consumer groups;
(b) the daily intake of vitamins and minerals from other dietary sources.
When the maximum levels are set, due account may be taken of the reference intake values of
vitamins and minerals for the population. This provision should not lead to setting of maximum levels that are solely based on recommended nutrient intakes (e. g. Population Reference Intake or Recommended Daily Allowance values).”

The risk assessment method is difficult to find which as you can imagine, is different depending on what substance, what industry, what company, what country etc. So I'll use the method as described by Dr. Laibow, which in my research has been found to be reasonably accurate. To get the maximum allowable dose of a substance, you need to calculate the L.D.50 which is the dosage that kills 50% of the test subjects (usually rats or mice), then you need to test for the maximum dosage where no discernable impact can be detected in the test subject. You then calculate the human equivalent dosage and divide it by 100. You then have the human dosage safety margin, which is again, 1/100th or 1% of the dose that has no discernable impact on the test subject.
As you can see in the Codex document, the dosage will be between 15% of the FAO/WHO recommended daily intake and 1% of the dose that has no discernable impact on the person taking the supplement. So it's possible that the average vitamin pill will only contain 15% of 1% of the dosage that will have any real effect on you assuming 1/100th is the daily maximum. So be sure to get your money’s worth and eat the box they came in.
If you do some research on Dr. Laibow you'll soon discover that many people find the claims in the Nutricide video rather extreme and hard to believe. So if you find it all a bit hard to stomach, you're not alone. But that's not to say the claims are not true, it means the documentation Dr. Laibow speaks of is not going to be easy to get.
As questionable as some of the claims may be, they are not impossible and attempts to implement Orwellian control over a populace have certainly been made in the past. One thing here is certain, the Codex Alimentarius is still a trade commission and trade serves the dollar not the people. Codex is obviously beneficial to pharmaceutical companies and organizations, and those companies are about making as much money as possible with almost complete disregard for the health of the population. A Consumer Protection Commission serves to the benefit of the people, the Codex Alimentarius Trade Commission serves the benefit of its monetary interests. It is wealth, not health.
So I say watch the video with a critical mind, use your logical thinking. There are some important points in the video and keep in mind that nothing she speaks of is impossible.
